If there’s one thing we know about Ireland in the Spring, it’s that the weather is “changeable”. That means rain, so get kitted out now and stay dry.
It’s April already, so we better get ready for some pretty changeable weather conditions between now and the summer. And during the summer too.
In fact, for a country where it rains a lot, we Irish lads are pretty bad about carrying umbrellas or wearing rain coats, but the days of sacrificing style by wearing a giant luminous poncho so you can stay dry are long gone.
You can grab a whole range of slick gear from a whoel host of shops Liffey Valley that will keep you on trend as well as making sure you don’t end up at the office looking like a drowned rat, so here’s our pick of the gear to keep you looking at your best.
From hats to coats, the fisherman look is fairly in recently, and they certainly know a thing or two about getting stuck in some pretty unpleasant weather conditions, so we’ll take tips from them when it comes to keeping dry. Head to Burton to grab a red version of this look for just €54.

Te Paul Costelloe line at Dunnes offers serious style and real quality with another twist on this look, with a coat priced at €100.

Go for the Don Draper look with a classic rain coat from Marks & Spencers (€200), and couple that with an umbrella with a crook handle (€30) to boot, if you really want to look the part of a dashing 1960s advertising exec from Madison Avenue.

If you’re going for a more casual look, the folks at Timberland know how to do techincal wear pretty well, so try out their Waterproof Wharf Jacket (€240) for a reliable Spring look that will keep the water out and won’t make you too warm if you get caught in the sun showers. Blue is a colour that’s on trend this season as well as being masculine, so this indigo jacket will be a great addition to your wardrobe.

There’s nothing worse than having wet socks either, so as a staple you should own a proper pair of wellies, and there’s no better brand than Hunter. Classic green, these will keep you dry right through the Spring, and are also a must-have for the Summer festivals given the weather we get, priced at €95 from Office.

So there you have it, from top to bottom, you can be cool, dry and stylish this Spring while everyone else will be wondering how you do it. Head out to Liffey Valley, Dublin 22 to find these looks and more, as well as restaurants, cafes and a whole host of entertainment facilities.
