Looks like we might get the first glimpses of the all-new Xbox in just over a month.

According to reports from various news outlets, Microsoft is planning to hold a rather large press event on May 21. Now, there’s no word yet as to what exactly they’re going to show, but chances are they’re just going to give us a glimpse of something small – like Sony with the new PS4 controller.

The event was originally supposed to be held in April, but the company pushed it back following the PlayStation event in February. Both companies are rumoured to be holding back for the E3 video games conference in Las Vegas in June, so like we already said, Microsoft will probably just tell us the new console’s name and give us a gander at the controller.

However, not all Xbox fans are looking forward to the new generation console. According to the Telegraph, “The new Xbox will use x86 microchip architecture, manufactured by AMD.

“The shift to the architecture ubiquitous in modern personal computers means Microsoft will drop the Power PC technology designed by IBM, and game discs made for the current Xbox 360 won’t be compatible.”

So all that’s left to do now is make up silly rumours, like the FACT that the new Xbox will come with a monkey butler. Okay, so it won’t, but it will be interesting to see what May 21 has in store.
