Much-maligned striker Fernando Torres has struck nice and early in Chelsea’s Europa League tie tonight, and it wasn’t a bad goal either.
You could be forgiven for overlooking the Europa League action tonight. With the Masters and Darts on, football just seems in the way tonight, at least on Day 1 of golf’s first Major.
But good old Fernando Torres has forced us to look away from our customised Masters leaderboard with a fairly tasty goal against Rubin Kazan.
A quick break and hoof forward set the Spaniard clear and he found himself faced with onrushing keeper Ryzhikov. Torres showed lots of his old composure to lift the ball over him and into the empty net.
1-0 Chelsea, 4-1 on aggregate, job done for Rafa’s boys you would think.
