Before you think about how this penalty was scored, just sit back and appreciate how good it is.
The likes of Gaizka Mendieta and, more recently, Eden Hazard, have demonstrated that deception is the key to a good penalty and what better way to deceive the ‘keeper than by taking a spot-kick with the opposite foot they think you’re going to strike the ball with?
The footage below comes from a charity match between two TV stations in Poland and while it may be a little old, we don’t really care because we’ve never seen it before and it is absolutely tremendous.
If you must know, the name of the penalty-taker is one Maciek Adamiak and if you’re thinking that you’ve seen something similar in the past, then you’re probably thinking of this effort from Ezequiel Calvente a few years back…
