Pic: An ominous warning for Irish fans with the wrong tickets for the Scotland game tomorrow night

Hopefully this won’t lead to any hassle for Irish fans heading to Celtic Park for the big one tomorrow evening.

Hopefully this won’t lead to any hassle for Irish fans heading to Celtic Park for the big one tomorrow evening.

The build-up appears to have gone on forever at this stage, but thankfully the much-anticipated meeting between Ireland and Scotland is just around the corner at this stage.

There has been no little tension in the run-up to the game, from the inflammatory comments made by Gordon McQueen about Aiden McGeady and James McCarthy to the situation regarding tickets for Irish fans, many of whom were unhappy with the way they were distributed by the FAI, who in turn were unhappy at the Scottish FA for their handling of the matter.

Although the official ticket allocation for Irish fans is a little over 3,000, the number of Irish fans had been expected to be far greater than that, with many procuring tickets through other sources, including the Scottish FA website.

With that in mind, Irish fans travelling to tomorrow night’s game at Celtic Park should be wary of a notice at Celtic Park alerting fans that they may be ejected by police if found in the wrong areas; the picture below was sent into us by Brian Stevens, whose brother took the photo at Celtic Park a little earlier today.

Here’s hoping it doesn’t lead to any hassle at Celtic Park tomorrow night and the Irish fans that do get in will make a lot of noise and leave the ground beaming at a positive result.

Hat-tip to Brian Stevens for sending this one our way
