Facebook are making “Facebook at Work” and it sounds like it could work

You’ll like this if you want to keep your private and professional lives separate…

You know that moment a notification pops up on your phone and it’s a friend request, exciting but who could it be?

Oh no it’s that overly inquisitive person in work who only wants to be friends with you to creep in your pictures. You know the type.

The problem with situations like that is you have to accept them or else it’s going to be very awkward in work for a long time because turning down a Facebook request is worse than insulting a family member.

Well now there might be a way to keep yourself and Johnny Questions happy because Facebook are creating “Facebook at Work” for people to use while they’re at work. Imagine the brainstorming sessions in there.

The Financial Times says the new site will look and work like the current Facebook but you’ll only be connected to people you work with.

Users will be able to add colleagues, read updates in their newsfeed, use instant messaging, share and edit documents.

So we reckon it’ll be a mix of Facebook, Dropbox, gmail chat and outlook express in one handy place. Sounds good to us. That Zuckerberg kid knows his stuff.
