Twitter’s new search engine will let you find every tweet ever sent

Those (albeit very rare) typos could come back to bite us in the backside.

Those (albeit very rare) typos could come back to bite us in the backside.

Twitter has announced that you can now search every single tweet sent on the social media platform since 2006.

The service used to dump all tweets from its search function after a few days or weeks but kept them locked away in their servers. Until now.

Introducing the new advanced search function.

It means that you’ll be able to go back to certain points in history, enter keywords or usernames or what-have-you, and relive the live experience of the raid on Osama bin Laden’s compound, the retirement of Alex Ferguson, Brian O’Driscoll’s last Irish performance and even the early days of Love/Hate.

Nice. The possibilities for time wasting are endless.
