Leinster haven’t had their best season but they’ve still scored some cracking tries, like these three efforts nominated for the Leinster Rugby try of the season.
Still in contention for both the Rabo12 and the Amlin Challenge Cup titles, it hasn’t been a disastrous season for Leinster by any means, but for a team that have claimed three of the last four Heineken Cups, either of those trophies will seem like small beans in comparison to the biggest prize in European rugby.
The Blues have still played some great rugby at times under Joe Schmidt and have scored some great tries and The Herald, the official newspaper to Leinster Rugby, are asking their readers to help them choose the best try of the season via a poll that users can vote in via text or on the Herald website.
Mike Ross probably never thought he’d ever feature in any try of the season poll but his effort against Harlequins in the Amlin Challenge Cup quarter-final is one of the contenders, alongside Brian O’Driscoll’s effort against Munster in the Aviva late last year and Andrew Goodman’s touchdown against the Scarlets while numerous members of the squad were away on Six Nations duty.
Have another look at all of the tries below and if you’d like to contribute your vote, you can find the details in the print version of The Herald or on The Herald website and be in with a chance to win a pair of tickets to the Leinster Rugby Awards in the Mansion House on May 4th.
Voting open date is Friday April 19 and closing date is Wednesday May 1.
Brian O’Driscoll v Munster
Mike Ross v Harlequins
Andrew Goodman v Scarlets
