The former Lions international is currently contracted to London Welsh, but after their relegation from the Premiership he is likely to move and Bath have confirmed they have held talks with his representatives.

He would join recent signing Peter Stringer in their ranks for next season, though two more different personalities in rugby you are unlikely to find.

The 31 year-old has struggled since he left the Ospreys in 2009, with short stints with Saracens, Toulon, Cardiff and now London Welsh. For all his undoubted talent, the fact he has just 31 caps for Wales says a lot about his attitude and temperament, as well as his injury problems.
