Eanna Falvey was today confirmed as the Lions’ Assistant Tour Doctor to James Robson and will join Patrick Reilly, better known to most as Rala and Ger Carmody (logistics) on the plane Down Under.

Falvey is the Director of Sports and Exercise Medicine at the Santry Sports Clinic and as well as being involved with the Irish Rugby Team he has worked closely with the Irish Boxing High Performance Unit.

He has been Ireland team doctor since 2009. As part of the IRFU medical structures, he previously worked as team doctor to the Ireland Under-21 international squad in 2005 and 2006 and the Churchill Cup side in 2008 and Dr. Robson, the Lions team doctor is delighted to have him on his team.

“I am delighted to have Eanna on board. He joins a team with a wealth of previous Lions experience. I hope he enjoys the opportunity to be involved on such an amazing journey,” he said.

It has also been confirmed that former Wales and Lions out-half Neil Jenkins has been appointed as an assistant coach for the 2013 tour, joining fellow countryman Robert Howley, and English men Andy Farrell and Graham Rowntree as assistant coaches.
