Christmas will be very awkward in this person’s house.

Facebook and WhatsApp groups are where most group events are organised these days; stags, 5-a-side, nights out etc are all sorted there.

99% of people know how the group message thing-a-majig works but that other 1% is where the dangers lies.

This guy was planning a getaway with his missus and they were discussing flights on Facebook but what he didn’t know is that his in-laws were also in the chat.

OH NO is right. Mother of God, that is just awful and if you’ve ever been in a similar situation, you’ll feel this guy’s pain.

He posted on Reddit explaining how he sent the smiley face before he realised his error…

He told the Huffington Post: “My in-laws never reacted. I believe they are taking the ‘we never saw it’ approach.

“My mother-in-law is so Catholic she wears a tiny veil on her head when she goes to mass.”

Not so cunning after all.
