Something about the magic of the FA Cup…
In case you took a temporary trip to the moon over the festive period, we hear that it’s lovely this time of year, then you may may have missed the news that Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard is set to leave the club.
The Reds captain is on duty tonight for Liverpool in their FA Cup tie against AFC Wimbledon and the ‘last-time’ counter is already going into overdrive.
Ladies and gents, prepare your tissues because this is probably the last time that you will see the Liverpool captain pose for a pre-match photo with a Womble.

This didn’t distract the Liverpool captain from putting his side into the lead with this tidy finish.
The hosts and their mascot are winners on everything but the scoreboard so far though with this superb tribute to those who lost their lives at the Hillsborough disaster.
