We’ve all been there so we should know that when a poor colleague is keeled over on the side of the pitch ready to puke their guts up, they should be left in peace. Or you could do this instead…
Whether it’s because of a bad tummy, a blow below the belt with a stray ball or a heavy session on the sauce the night before, there are few people in Ireland who have played sport who haven’t felt more than the worse for wear out on the playing field at some point in their amateur careers.
The sight of a colleague standing half-keeled over with their hands on their knees and ready to rid themselves of last night’s 3am takeaway would normally elicit sympathy amongst most of us, but not for this guy from Thurles RFC, who decided to do the worst possible thing to a teammate in such a state… namely hit them with a blindside tackle at a moment when they are at their absolute worst.
The photos below weren’t taken today or yesterday – in fact they were taken on a tour of Swansea in 2010 – but we thought them too good not to bring to your attention and if you’re in need of explanation, we couldn’t possibly do any better than the one given to us by the Thurles RFC lads after they sent them into our Facebook page.
“This is a popular photo from our tour of Swansea back in 2010. After a huge amount of beer we decided to play a rugby game in the middle of it….. The rest is history. Thought you’d like the photo.”
Indeed and we do lads, indeed and we do.

Thanks to the lads at Thurles RFC for sending these into us.
