JOE’s Icon of Style: Colin Firth

The man knows how to throw an outfit together

JOE

When you think of the perfect gentleman, you instantly think of JOE (obviously) and then the next person on the list is Colin Firth.

The man is the very definition of class and certainly knows how to throw a fashionable outfit together. He even looks cool when he’s wearing shady Christmas jumpers for heaven’s sake.

As far as style icons for the modern man go, he is the perfect starting point. His new film, Kingsman: The Secret Service, demonstrates this perfectly.

Firth plays Kingsman recruiter, Harry Hart, who kicks a*s and looks savvy as ever while doing it. His line ‘the suit is a modern gentleman’s armour’ is ideal, because few people know suits as well as Colin Firth.

Legendary retailers Mr Porter created a collection based on the film and it really doesn’t disappoint. Here are a few of our favourite items from it.

These Cutler And Gross tortoise shell glasses (€350) scream Colin Firth. Their timeless style and elegance is ideal for the perfect gentleman.

This Kingsman double-breasted suit (€1,795) really does catch the eye as an instant Firth classic. It doesn’t get much more Saville Row than this.

Firth is great for tying  his outfits together with epic watches. This Bremont Alt1 (€4,295) is one of our favourites.

So there you have it, Colin Firth, style icon… I guess we’ll just have to forget that he did this once.
