Quade Cooper and Sean Maitland will be on opposing sides this summer in Australia, but it will be a proud occasion for both families.

The Wallabies out-half and Scottish winger will face each other in the Lions Tour next month and it will be far removed from the time spent together playing as kids.
The cousins were both born in New Zealand, with Cooper moving to Australia early in his teens and Maitland making the move to Glasgow last year and qualified to play international rugby through his grandparents.
Maitland spoke this week about the excitement over playing against Cooper, “we would probably have a rivalry, starting at the age of 5 when he beat me in a long-distance race,” he told the press.
The Wallabies star has tweeted his delight at seeing his cousin make the Lions squad, but also posted this picture on his Instagram account of them playing together as kids.

One family could be very divided for a few weeks this summer.
