Video: German scientists have given Super Mario a mind of his own

This is a tad creepy…

A team of scientists at the Department of Computer Science in the University of Tübingen, Germany, have created a version of Super Mario that can think and even speak for himself.

In the video below you’ll see Mario learning a variety of things on his own, like the fact that he can kill Goombas by jumping on them.

Speaking about the ‘sentient’ version of Mario, one of the team members from the University of Tübingen said: “Mario will collect coins if he is hungry, whereas when he is curious, he will explore his environment and autonomously gather knowledge about items he does not know much about yet.”

We don’t know about all this. You don’t have to be a movie buff to know this sort of thing never works out in the human’s favour. Just sayin’
