It’s the band’s first since 2005.
New Order have told Rolling Stone that they will release a new album this autumn.
Frontman Bernard Sumner says that “it’s the logical thing to do” for the band and is their first album proper since Waiting For The Siren’s Call in 2005.
Drummer Stephen Morris says the album has been in the works since 2011 and that three tracks – ‘Singularity’, ‘Plastic’ and ‘Restless’ – are all likely to feature.
New Order’s current line-up includes Sumner, Morris, Gillian Gilbert, Phil Cunningham and Tom Chapman. This is the band’s first record since assist Peter Hook left the group in 2007.
