Iconic chat-show host David Letterman has launched a stinging attack against James Corden after the League of Their Own presenter didn’t start his new job hosting CBS’s The Late Late Show immediately.
In an interview with temporary host Regis Philbin, Letterman asked where the “tubby kid” was and why he didn’t jump at the chance to start his new job.
Philbin is guest hosting The Late Late Show until the Gavin & Stacy actor takes over from the former full time host Craig Ferguson and Letterman’s comments haven’t made Corden’s new gig any easier.
Letterman’s remarks are sure to split opinion, just like Corden’s own presenting style.

It will be interesting to see how the US take to Corden. They’ll probably like him more than Pharrell did after he was interviewed at the Brits.
