School says ‘no’ to 17-year-old boy who asked a 30-year-old Las Vegas showgirl to his debs

What a hero

Paul Moore

What a hero.

When it comes to the topic of secondary school students asking a suitable partner to their debs, there’s plenty of things to consider.

We imagine that most guys will be wondering whether or not their potential date will be good craic, if they’ll have much in common and just how awkward will it be when they have to meet the girls family and pose for photos like an eejit.

Society says that teenage boys should be dating people that are much more age appropriate but we say to hell with this.

If a 17-year-old boy wants to chase a 30-year-old showgirl then so be it. Good luck to him.

If The Graduate ever requires a sequel then they should look at the the story of Austin Moore, a high-schooler from Oregon, who brazenly invited his friend’s cousin to the debs.

Oh yeah, this cousin of his friend happens to be Mariah Rivera – a Las Vegas showgirl, model and cheerleader for the Las Vegas Outlaws.

Rivera agreed to be Austin’s date but only if he managed to get 10,000 retweets and the teenager was making some good inroads on the challenge until his school stated that only people under the age of 19 could attend the debs.

Sean’s school actually found the whole situation quite funny and said, “we just laughed about it and I said this just isn’t going to happen.’

Having read this story we can only think of one thing, Chazz Michael Michaels’ famous quote from Blades of Glory, “troubled childhood? If you consider a 9-year-old kid with a 35-year-old girlfriend troubled”.
