15 pictures that sum up what it means to win the AIB GAA All-Ireland Club Championships on Paddy’s Day

It really is a dream come true

It really is a dream come true.

Tomorrow will mark the biggest day in the GAA careers of many players from Corofin of Galway, Slaughtneil of Derry, Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny and Kilmallock from Limerick.

For half of them, it will be one of the best days of their lives as they celebrate the biggest prize in club football and hurling with the people they have grown up and shared joyous and heartbreaking experiences with throughout their lives to date.

Alas, for the other half, there will be devastation when they face the reality of defeat despite having been the cause of so much happiness and pride for their parish during the remarkable journey to Croke Park.

The participating teams won’t learn their fate until tomorrow afternoon so for now, all they’ll be thinking of is what it will be like to be jubilant in victory following the final whistle.

Judging by some of the iconic pictures from down through the years in the gallery above, it’s not a bad place to be.
