5 reasons why starting a new job can be absolutely brilliant

You'll have to get a new mug

JOE

The ‘job for life’ concept has had its day.

And that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

Modern men are open to change. If something doesn’t suit, they mix it up.

Starting a new job is a daunting experience, but it can also be a fantastic one.

Besides, you wouldn’t be changing workplace unless there was a good reason. Don’t be afraid to push yourself to find the perfect position for you.

So, in association with Lynx Black, we’ve put together a list of five things to look forward to when starting a new job.

You now have a clean slate

Remember when you were late for work twice in the one week back in 2012. That doesn’t matter any more, because you’re now working off a blank canvass, which is absolutely brilliant.

Just make sure your alarm clock has batteries this time around. You’ve a new reputation to upkeep.

When the work isn’t as complicated as you first thought

The first day you walked into the office, you were shocked as you hadn’t realised you had just signed a contract to be a nuclear physicist. (All nuclear physicists should disregard the last sentence.)

Then, four days in, you realise nothing is ever as complicated as it first seems. You’re aceing it and impressing everyone, including yourself.

A new group of workmates

Those water-cooler chats, where the same guy bitches about his boss OVER AND OVER AGAIN are a thing of the past.

You’ve got new workmates, new stories and new conversations. Now’s the time to set the standard for the sort of person you want to be in your new role. Embrace it.

More money, satisfaction, time

We don’t want to assume, but chances are you looked for a new job because you were either unemployed or not satisfied with some aspect of your old one. You know what this means – new horizons and probably a few extra quid in your pocket too. Nice.

You’ve got your enthusiasm back

If you’ve switched jobs recently, you were probably a little fed-up with your old position. If that’s the case, starting a new job will give your joy for work back, which you probably haven’t had in ages.

Enjoy every second of it.

So there you have it, those are five things to look forward to when starting a new job.

Don’t be afraid to make the jump if the time is right for you. Starting a new job can DEFINITELY be a positive experience.
