Tommy Tiernan announces details of a new tour around some of Ireland’s most famous islands

To hell with the mainland

Paul Moore

To hell with the mainland.

If JOE had to provide an answer to the question, ‘what islands have the most craic?’, then the answers are pretty obvious.

It’s clearly Ireland and Craggy Island, it must be something about being cut-off from ‘the rest’ of the world that shapes this unique sense of humour.

It seems that Ted, Dougal and Jack won’t be the only islanders making people laugh though as Tommy Tiernan has just announced details of a new comedy tour.

It’s crazy to think that the Navan man is now entering his 20th year as a stand-up comedian and he’s continuing the format of his successful 2013 tour by performing on some of Ireland’s most famous off-shore locations.

Take a look at the dates announced so far:

July 1st Inisbofin Community Centre
July 2nd Community Centre & Bar, Clare Island
July 8th Club Cleire, Cape Clear Island
July 9th The Islanders Rest, Sherkin Island
July 14th Halla Ronain, Inis Mor
July 15th Inis Meain Commmunity Hall
July 16th Aras Eanna, Inis Oirr

Tickets priced €25.00 (inc booking fee) are on sale Friday 10th at 9am from local venues, www.ticketmaster.ie & usual outlets nationwide.
