Those were the days.
The days when you knew exactly what the plot of Home and Away was and doing nothing on a Tuesday afternoon was the norm, rather than the exception.
The days when train tickets were that little bit cheaper and you were the self-proclaimed Countdown king.
Those were YOUR college days.
And these are the 5 things you probably miss most.
Weekday lie-ins
Remember when you could stay in bed until 1pm because your only lecture that day wasn’t until mid-afternoon?
Nowadays, 8:15am is considered a lie-in and you actually own an alarm clock.
Weekday nights out
Believe or not, there was a time when you could go out on a weekday without the fear of being absolutely wrecked while at work the following day.
Daytime television
Two words which instantly make almost any student miss their college days – Rachel Riley.
Countdown was, and is, the daytime TV choice of many a student who only has to be in college for a total of fourteen hours in any given week.
Discounts
The magic money-saving mechanism that was showing your student card is no longer an option. Now, you’ve to pay full price for everything and it’s an absolute pain in the neck.
Less responsibility
There was a time when the only thing you had to do in a week was turn up to a few lectures and not poison yourself with cheap, boiled noodles.
Those days are gone.
You’re now a proper adult, but you know what? It’s not so bad.
You’ve a little bit of extra cash, you look a little bit more distinguished and you don’t have to awkwardly avoid that library fine you’ve had for four years.
New Lynx Black is all about being that little bit more sophisticated. It’s about cutting through the noise with understated and subtle qualities. Something that comes to most of us only after we’ve made the transition through college.
So here’s to those days, but here’s to these ones too, because growing up is pretty great.
