Midlife crisis age has been revealed and it’s younger than you might think

Some interesting findings here…

According to data obtained from Spotify, the average age of a midlife crisis is… drumroll please… 42.

The Washington Post reports, “in a new analysis of data, Spotify found that there’s a specific point when middle-aged listeners drop their sophisticated singer-songwriters, their ‘best of the 80s, 90s and today,’ and spontaneously start listening to teeny-bopper pop again.”

The research suggests that young 20-something-year-olds listen to the most chart music, but when we hit our late-20s/early-30s we start to broaden our horizons with more obscure music.

By mid-30s we give up on chart music all together, but then at 42, we get back into pop music with a bang. Why? Because we want to feel young again.
