SSE Airtricity, with JOE.ie, Her.ie and the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon has launched Team Dublin Marathon.
This involves a team of five men for JOE and five women with Her, who will run the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon this October.
The team is a mix of runners from all across Ireland varying in age and sporting experience.
Between now and race day in October each team member will get their own individualised training programmes and weekly training schedules from two of the best marathon runners in the country.
Gary Crossan, four times men’s Irish national Marathon champion, and Maria McCambridge, 2004 Olympian and 2013 Irish national marathon champion, will mentor and coach each individual for 19 weeks through the four SSE Airtricity Dublin Race Series ahead of the SSE Airtricity Dublin Marathon in October.
Meet the team…
Stephen Anisworth, 39
Stephen has been living in Wexford for the last eight years.
Stephen, who is from the England, met his wife, a Wexford native, when they were both studying in the UK and moved to the Sunny South East in 2007.

David Casey, 39
David is from Dundalk and a Sergeant in the Irish Army. David has run two Half Marathons previously and this will be his first attempt at the 26.2 mile distance.
Favourite Inspirational quote: “You can do it Dad” (voices of my kids inside my head).
Kieran Murphy, 48
Kieran is a Dubliner from Cabinteetly. He is married with two kids. This will be Kieran’s first Marathon, he has trained for two previously but got injured both times.
Favourite Inspirational quote: Success is a choice … not a secret.
Stephen Rigney, 27
Stephen is a Dubliner from Coolock and is the youngest member of Team Dublin Marathon.
Three years ago Stephen and his brother trained to run the Dublin Marathon, but weeks out from the race Stephen got injured.
He said having to watch his brother finish the race without him was heart wrenching.

Patrick Clarke, 49
Patrick is our oldest member of Team Dublin Marathon and will be 50 on Race Day.
This will be Patrick’s first Marathon.
When not training for the Dublin Marathon, Patrick is a writer, producer and actor. He wrote and produced the movie, Beyond the Pale and he also has appeared in a number of episodes of Sex and the City.
