JK Rowling sends message to Dublin girl injured in Berkeley balcony fall

Clodagh Cogley is a massive fan of Harry Potter

Tony Cuddihy

Harry Potter author JK Rowling has sent her best wishes to a girl injured in Tuesday’s balcony tragedy in Berkeley, California.

Clodagh Cogley is recovering in hospital and listening to audio tapes of the Harry Potter books.

Her brother contacted Rowling in the hope that she could boost the spirits of Clodagh, who was seriously injured and only survived due to the quick thinking of Jack Halpin, who was also hurt.

Clodagh Cogley is the granddaughter of former RTÉ Head of Sport Fred Cogley.
