Let the trash talking begin…
In a move which caught us all off guard, UFC President Dana White has announced that Conor McGregor and Uriah Faber are to be the coaches for the new season of The Ultimate Fighter.
The Dubliner just can’t seem to stay out of the headlines lately…
The UFC interim champion will head a team of eight European fighters as they square off with a Faber-headed American team.
To add to the drama, Faber is a teammate of Chad Mendes at team Alpha Male in California, the man who McGregor TKO’d on Saturday night.
But to answer the question that you’re no doubt pondering right now, it will not interfere with McGregor’s plans to fight Jose Aldo in a featherweight unification bout next time out.
Still, the news is quite surprising to everyone but there is some logic to it when you consider the heated exchange between the pair backstage at the UFC189 weigh-ins.

Plus, should Jose Aldo pull out of the next fight for any reason, the UFC will have a ready-made replacement for the fight with months of hype and promotional work already completed thanks to the TV show.
Clever planning by the UFC…
