Ireland’s top ten Irish men to follow on Twitter

Who did we miss?

JOE

Absolute gems.

Twitter is a big forum with room for all kinds of conversations to take place and you can’t keep track of them all, so we have put together a list of ten top members of the Twitteratti to keep a eye on for exciting news, inspiring posts and hilarious comments.

There is no doubt that we have left out people who would easily grace the list, but ten is a small number so we can’t include everyone, so feel free to suggest your favourite Irish Twitter personalities by e-mail, Facebook and, of course, Twitter.

Bernard O’Shea

There is no denying Bernard O’Shea is a funny man and the RTE star likes to let his funny bone loose on the Twittersphere from time to time, so don’t miss out on his unique brand of comedy by giving this man a follow on the forum.

Sir Michael

Hitting the headlines on occasion for his hilarious open letters which he likes to leave around his hometown, Waterford, this young man has a nice tone of cynicism and scepticism to keep many amused. One to watch for future developments; a quick-witted humorous mind at work.

Ciaran Lenehan

Meath footballer Ciaran Lenehan has become renowned for his quick wit and his brand of satire is here to stay, so make sure to look out for it and get your stint of comic genius on a daily basis.

Paddy Holohan

An inspirational character doing well in the world of MMA, who looks to have a bright and exciting future. Worth a follow to keep up with his movements and his late night tea sessions; what other fighter do you know that goes sips a cuppa with their defeated opponent?

Colm Parkinson

A presenter for Off the Ball on Newstalk, ‘Woolly’ is funny, witty, never afraid to speak his mind, particularly on matters GAA and is well worth a follow.

Niall Breslin

Niall Breslin, aka Bressie, is never afraid to offer his two cents and the work he is doing for Mental Health awareness is another reason to follow the singer. Whether it’s talking about triathlon training, giving out about seagulls or recovering from holiday injuries, Bressie keeps his followers entertained.

Paul O’Connell

A giant of a man who is heading to the far shores of Toulon to continue his rugby career, this Munster man does not have to be an aching void in your life thanks to modern technology. Keep an eye on regular updates of how the gentle giant is getting on in his new home by watching out on Twitter.

Colm Tobin

Satirical dry wit is hard to come by in such a perfect form, but Colm Tobin has it down.

Every day is just an opportunity to hit them out of the park with witty observations on all topical conversations he stumbles upon. If you are not already following this guy, get on it.

Conor McGregor

The biggest, baddest MMA champion of them all, Conor McGregor’s Twitter is exactly what you’d expect from the Dubliner, from updates about his life and training to cheeky quips at those around him and casual conversations with big wigs such as Arnold Schwarzenegger.

David O’Doherty

Comedian David O’Doherty is a professional comedian so you know he is funny, but his observational wit is top notch and his tweets are a regular source of interest. Well worth a follow for a free chuckle every now and again.
