Sport on TV this weekend: All-Ireland Football quarter-finals, Community Shield and the Scottish Premiership returns

Saturday

Scottish Premiership, Celtic v Ross County, Sky Sports 1, 12pm

It’s the return of Scottish top flight football as Celtic kick off the defence of their title against Ross County. The corresponding fixture finished scoreless last season so let’s hope there’ll be a few more goals on show this time round.

All-Ireland SFC Qualifiers, Sligo v Tyrone and Donegal v Galway, Sky Sports 1, 3.30pm

The last two All-Ireland quarter-final spots are up for grabs and all eyes will be on Croke Park this Saturday. Mayo and Monagahan await the victors in the quarters.

The throw-in for the Sligo v Tyrone game is at 4pm and is followed by Donegal v Galway at 6pm.

Sunday

The Sunday Game Live, RTE2, 1.30pm

It’s another double-header from Croke Park as the first two quarter-finals take place. First up we have the meeting of Kerry and Kildare with a throw-in time of 2pm.

This will be followed by the clash of big underdogs Fermanagh against the favourites, Dublin at 4pm.

The FA Community Shield, BT Sport2, 2.30pm

It’s hard to believe lads, but the curatin-raiser for the new footie season, the Comunity Shield is on this Sunday.

Match kicks off at 3pm and features last season’s Premier League champions Chelsea and the FA Cup winners, Arsenal.
