For some travellers, an hour on a Ryanair flight from Dublin to London is enough time to be spending on a plane, never mind the marathon trek that has just been announced by the Emirates airline.
Passengers boarding the airline’s new route from Dubai to Panama will have to get comfortable for a whopping 17 hours and 35 minutes in what will be the longest non-stop flight in the world.
The distance between the two destinations clocks in at around 8,590 miles, approximately 10 miles more than the previous record holder, a Qantas flight between Sydney and Dallas.
The first flight on the new route will take off on February 1 of next year and Emirates will use a Boeing 777-200LR to complete the journey, a carrier that’s about as far from a twin propeller plane as you can get.
We wouldn’t fancy the jet lag that’s bound to hit upon arrival though, a man could be flattened for days.
