Here’s how you can do your bit for Mother Nature at this year’s Electric Picnic

It's easy being green

Carl Kinsella

It’s finally easy being green.

Friends of the Earth will be sending ‘Green Messengers’ to Electric Picnic this year in order to maintain the beautiful, verdant fields of of Stradbally, Co. Laios.

Picnickers will be able to get in on the action, and can earn their ticket for next year by collecting 1100 cups that people have thrown on the ground.

Patrons will also a receive 20c refund on every cup they return, which could be handy if funds start to run low on the Sunday evening.

The ‘Every Can Counts’ campaign will also have recycling cans all around the campsite, and by bringing your cans to be recycled you could be in with a chance to win a ticket for EP 2016, as well as many other prizes.

This year’s EP will also feature a Greencrafts’ village, which is entirely hand-powered or solar-powered, filled with master craftsmen and women who will be teaching traditional crafts skills, such as steelwork or knitting.

Global Green will also make an appearance at the festival for the eighth year in a row, showcasing new musical acts and serving ‘the most authentic food on site.’

You’ll be green with envy if you miss out. *Gets coat*.
