Calling all rally fans – The Stages Rally is coming to Wexford this weekend

This is going to be good

JOE

Rally fans are in for a treat this weekend as the Riverbank House Hotel Stages Rally arrives in Wexford.

The atmosphere is set to be electric at this two-day event, as some of Ireland’s finest rally drivers take on the 12 stages which span over 210km.

Competition is stronger than ever, with the Subaru WRCs of Paddy McVeigh & Gary McElhinney and Kevin Barrett & Seán Mulally amongst the leading contenders.

Double Wexford winner James Stafford will be accompanied by Richard Cleary in the Darrian T90 GTR. Stafford broke a few records at last year’s event and looks to be totally at ease with Wexford’s short stages.

The Mitsubishi Colt of Seán Crowley and Emma Jones could definitely cause a shock this weekend. They’ve recently hit a bit of form, leading the Harry Flatters stages, so it will be interesting to see how well they go here.

Graham and Tom Scallan are never too far away from the top of the leader board, so it would be no surprise to see them put in a top performance in their local rally.

Whoever wins, there is one thing that is for sure: this is going to be an excellent weekend for both spectators and drivers. The Road Safety Authority is encouraging anyone who is travelling to the event to stay safe and to leave the racing to the professionals.
