It appears that Apple have patented a new-shaped jack for inputting headphones into a device, sparking rumours that they’re likely to do away with the classic, round input socket.
The new jack would be even thinner than the current, classic one – allowing Apple to make an even thinner, more compact iPhone.
The downside of this development is that it would render your current expensive headphones obsolete when it comes to listening to anything on your iPhone.
Apple, which owns the Beats by Dre brand, would surely make a killing by selling an absolute rack of new headphones to go with their new phones.
