Handled like a pro.
There’s certain things that you can prepare for whenever you’re doing a live TV broadcast. Certain things are under a reporters control, like briefing the interviewee or preparing an airtight script, but there’s always an element of surprise that’s just ominously lurking nearby.
RTÉ’s Washington correspondent Caitriona Perry was reporting live the Nine O’Clock News and she almost got hit after a gust of wind knocked over one of the nearby lights.
To her immense credit, Perry was unflustered by the event and handed back to host Eileen Dunne like a pro.
