The Vodafone Comedy Carnival is just around the corner and here at JOE Towers, we can’t wait to make our way down to Galway and experience it.
The best in international and local acts will be performing and we’ve began to count down the days until October 20.
It got us thinking, ‘what goes through our mind when we are at a comedy gig?’
Here are 7 things we’ve all thought in the past…
Are they going to interact with me?
Nina Conti, who is performing on October 24 in the Town Hall Theatre is an absolute expert at this. So, if you’re in the front row, prepare yourself!

What made him think a career in comedy was a good idea?
Sometimes when you’re at a comedy gig, you wonder this yourself… it’s usually a bad sign.
Christ, please stop my sides are hurting
This is the other side of the coin. When the comedian is so funny you can’t take it anymore.
Could I do better than them?
Thinking to yourself, ‘I am funny enough to be on stage’ is usually the first step to making it in the comedy world.
The comedy carnival has plenty of up-and-coming acts who are trying to prove this themselves.
Steve Bennett is one of the finest up-and-comers and he has several shows at the festival.

I know exactly what he means
Dylan Moran is playing three nights in a row at the Black Box Theatre and if you go, you are guarenteed to be saying this.

Why don’t I go to more of these?
If you are anything like JOE, you say this after every great comedy gig you go to.
Now is your chance to rectify that. The Vodafone Comedy Carnival is on in Galway from October 20-23 and tickets are available from here.
