The timing of this is interesting.
Jonathon Sexton has diva-like tendencies akin to Swedish enigma Zlatan Ibrahimovic, said an unnamed source at his old club, Racing Metro.
The comments come just days ahead of Ireland’s crunch Rugby World Cup match with France on Sunday.
Speaking to the French newspaper Midi Olympique, Racing’s backs coach Laurent Labit also suggested why it didn’t work out for Sexton in France.
According to The Telegraph, Labit said:
“Several times I had to remind him that there are certain ways of expressing things.”
Jonathan had the tendency to employ a rather forceful manner and use a colourful language in the heat of the moment. Sometimes it bordered on insults… at some moments Jonathan was really uncontrollable.”
The Irish camp has defended Sexton, with Devon Toner questioning the timing of the comments while labelling Ireland’s number 10 as “a very down-to-earth guy”.
