The feud continues.
David Beckham can add ‘attempted peacemaker’ to his repertoire after attempting to reunite two former feuding colleagues.
Beckham will captain a Great Britain & Ireland XI against the Rest of the World at Old Trafford in next month’s Unicef Match for Children.
With Alex Ferguson confirmed as manager, the former England captain also asked Roy Keane to line out on November 14.
The reunion will have to wait though, with Beckham, who also fell out with Fergie at one time, delivering the bad news to The Telegraph.
“We have asked Roy, but unfortunately he is tied up,” Beckham said.
“He is on international duty and that is part of the problem with some of the other players we wanted to play.
“We have to pick a weekend where we felt we would get a lot of support and 3pm on a Saturday does not happen very often.”
