POLL: Pick one, Ireland to beat France and avoid the All-Blacks or Ireland to beat Poland and avoid a play-off

A tough, tough choice

Conor Heneghan

If you had to pick one, what would it be?

Today could potentially be one of the greatest days in the history of Irish sport and there’s a hell of a lot on the line for our soccer and rugby teams.

Thankfully, no matter what happens today, the Irish rugby team will be in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals next weekend and, at the very least, the soccer team will be in a play-off for qualification for Euro 2016.

Ideally, Ireland will beat France in Cardiff and avoid the All-Blacks in the quarter-finals and Ireland will beat Poland in Warsaw and qualify directly for Euro 2016 and make it the greatest day ever.

But on this day of Irish sporting days, we’re asking our readers to make an incredibly difficult, albeit hypothetical, choice.

You can only pick one: Ireland to beat France and avoid New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup quarter-finals. Or Ireland to beat Poland, avoid a play-off and qualify directly for Euro 2016.

We don’t envy you your choice.
