It looks like Ireland is ready for the seventh instalment of the Star Wars series. Episode VII, subtitled The Force Awakens, has already sold over 200,000 advanced tickets with 24 hours of going on sale.
Several showings of the movie have already sold out, even though it isn’t set to be released until December.
This has smashed the previous records of other films like Skyfall, The Hunger Games and 50 Shades of Grey. It also provides a much needed boost for Irish cinemas in an era where more and more people (apparently) stay home to watch movies.
