Dublin has come third in Lonely Planet’s comprehensive list of the top ten cities in the world to visit in 2016.
According to The Irish Times, the 1916 commemoration plays a huge factor in our fantastic position.
Prepare to gush with pride as the esteemed travel magazine explains its main reasoning, citing the Easter Rising centenary as a “a particularly good time” to pay a visit to our capital .
“(the) diaspora has turned inside out and Dublin is now a truly cosmopolitan capital, with an influx of people, energy and ideas infusing the ever-beguiling, multi-layered city with fresh flavours and kaleidoscopic colours”.
