Halloween is already scary enough without even mentioning the names of those players that still give Irish supporters the 3am shakes. No, I’m not just talking about Joe Lapira.
Unfortunately for all fans of the boys in green, the following footballers have all put us through footballing hell; Goran Stavrevski, Tayfur Havutçu, Thierry Henry and David Alaba to name just a few. So many play-off nightmares.
Bosnia and Herzegovina are next on the agenda though and with John O’Shea suspended, it’s time for another defender to step up and potentially make himself a cult-hero.
No man better personifies the beloved cult status that Irish fans give certain players quite like a former Coventry, West Ham and Sunderland defender.
