Worthy of Richie McCaw at his intimidating best.
There isn’t a rugby fan alive that can claim that New Zealand didn’t deserve to retain the Webb Ellis trophy because despite their sluggish start, the All Blacks were absolutely ferocious as soon as the knock-out rounds commenced.
The basics done right combined with an incredibly level of skill, athleticism and commitment ensured that New Zealand claimed a record third Rugby World Cup title and it’s a fitting send off to one of the games greatest players, Richie McCaw.
His retirement means that another Kiwi is going to have to lead the side in their pre-match haka and some of the airport staff that greated Steve Hansen’s side when they arrived home have put their names into contention with a seriously impressive version.
All they need now is the ability to play incredible rugby!
