One of the best things about having your own car is that you get to decide what music is played when you’re driving it.
With great power comes great responsibility. On this week’s Pioc do Ride, the TG4 dating show, one the girls finds a homage to the Backstreet Boys in one of the contestant’s cars.
The Backstreet Boys might be great for a guilty pleasure fest or a nostalgia disco, but they didn’t really produce the greatest driving tunes.
These guys on the other hand.
LCD Soundsystem – Daft Punk Is Playing in My House
Driving shouldn’t be a drag and this tune will definitely add a little bit of fun to the occasion.
Interpol – PDA
The drums at the start of this song are enough to make this a great driving tune. You’ll be trying to recreate the rhythm with your thumbs for weeks.
The Academic – Different
When the Mullingar lads aren’t rocking our socks off at The Sunday Sessions Live, they’re producing indie gems like this.

Blur – Beetlebum
This timeless tune is much more than your average Britpop tune.
The National – Bloodbuzz Ohio
Here at JOE, we are massive fans of the Brooklyn band. This song is perfect for screaming out when your stuck in traffic on a wet and windy autumn evening.

Ryan Adams – Shake it off
Adams has made T-Swift cool… actually, to be fair T-Swizzle was pretty cool to start off with. Nonetheless, this is a great cover.
Violent Femmes – Blister in the Sun
That song everyone knows from that band very few people know. A great song by a band you should listen to more of.
Fleetwood Mac – You Can Go Your Own Way
This song has the catchiest chorus ever written. No contest.
Queen – Don’t Stop Me Now
Would any driving playlist be complete without a mention of Queen?
Hozier – Take Me To Church
Another one you’ll be belting out from your lungs while behind the wheel.
