TWEETS: Nobody could see the second half of Ireland v Bosnia so they made fog jokes instead

Strangest match ever

Conor Heneghan

How was the Ireland game? We haven’t the foggiest.

The first half of Ireland’s clash with Bosnia tonight wasn’t much to look at to be honest, but at least we could see what was going on out on the pitch.

Come the second half, fog descended on the stadium in Zenica in a serious way, making it virtually impossible for TV viewers to see any of the action.

This is the type of thing we all had to put up with…

Apparently, Robbie Brady and Edin Dzeko traded goals late on in a 1-1 draw but both goals were incredibly anti-climactic because, on both occasions, the ball was in the net before anyone knew what was going on.

Instead of getting it from the match, entertainment was to be found in making light relief of the situation with some crap highly original jokes on Twitter.

A bit strange, but great craic all the same. Smoke machines for the Aviva on Monday night, anyone?
