VIDEO: A 50 foot Christmas tree was put up in Dublin today

Too early?

Rockefeller Center, eat your heart out.

The conditions weren’t ideal thanks to Storm Barney, but nothing gets in the way of Christmas and nothing was going to stop a giant Christmas tree going up in Dublin today.

The tree was put up in Custom House Quarter in Dublin and will form the centrepiece of I BELIEVE™, Ireland’s first Winter Food, Drink, Craft and Horticulture Festival.

As well as the tree, there will be food and craft markets, a pop-up bar and Santa will even be relocating from Clerys to boot.

The inaugural tree lighting ceremony will take place next Thursday, 26 November and the festival, which runs until December 23, will be free and open to the public to enjoy.

There are high hopes that the tree will become Dublin’s finest Christmas landmark and will rival the iconic Rockefeller tree that goes up in New York City every year.

We’re looking forward to seeing what it looks like all lit up; for more information on the I BELIEVE™ festival, click here.
