RTÉ have released their Christmas schedule, and there’s certainly something for everyone in the audience this festive season.
Fans of Mrs. Brown’s Boys are in for a treat this yuletide season, as Brendan O’Carroll’s iconic gets not one but two specials over the course of RTÉ’s Christmas schedule. Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie is this year’s big Christmas movie, getting the prized Christmas Day slot.
It’s a good Christmas for comedy as Tommy Tiernan will take elements of his radio show on to the silver-screen in a one-off special on
There’s good news for music fans, and plenty of variety to choose from. A new documentary about Luke Kelly entitled Luke Kelly: The Prince of Dublin will air, as will Fab! The Night The Beatles Came to Dublin.
RTÉ will also be showing some of the best films to come out in recent years. Viewers on St. Stephen’s Day will be able to catch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, Lincoln and Captain Phillips. Christmas Day will be a bit more kid-friendly – premiering Brave, as well as Oz: The Great and Powerful.
The quality carries on to the next month, with the hotly anticipated 1916 drama Rebellion kicking off in January. Those who want a lighter take on history can watch The Rubberbandits’ Guide to 1916 on RTE2.
