All these movies are terrible, but in a warm festive kind of way.
Convention says we shouldn’t like these movies, but we’re going to put that to one side for a minute and state that ‘feck it, these cringe worthy films are all worth our time.’
They aren’t great Christmas films like Die Hard and Scrooged, but we love them anyway.
Deck the Halls
This is a terrible movie which can be made way better if you imagine that Danny DeVito is reprising his Frank Reynolds role in a prequel to It’s Always Sunny.

Jingle All The Way
Essentially 90 minutes of Arnie trying not to say ‘I’ll be back’ make for a Christmas movie which is best watched from behind the sofa.

Santa Claus Conquers the Martians
The IMDB synopsis summarises: “The Martians kidnap Santa because there is nobody on Mars to give their children presents.” Is that not enough of a reason to watch this crazy film?

Jack Frost
This movie about a kid whose dead father returns in the form of a snowman is actually quite dark if you think about it… so don’t and just enjoy the silliness!

How The Grinch Stole Christmas
Not Jim Carey’s finest hour, but there is still enough charm and good will in this movie to make it a cringey Christmas classic.

Just Friends
There are a few genuine laughter-inducing cringe moments in this Ryan Reynolds Christmas movie. A good one for when you want to turn off your brain and laugh.

Fred Claus
We will watch anything with Paul Giamatti in it and this movie is no different. The Sideways star plays Vince Vaughan’s brother, Santa Claus. It’s a strange little film.

The Santa Clause
We all remember watching this years ago wondering how the little kid was so damn gullible and if Tim Allen’s character actually just hallucinating the whole time.

I’ll Be Home For Christmas
This is more of a ‘where are they now?’ documentary about the kid from Home Improvement than it is a film. Still, if you’re looking for absolute Christmas fluff then this may be the movie for you.
