And the winner of the JOE Footballer of the Year sponsored by NIVEA MEN is…

Conor Heneghan

He’ll be struggling to make room on the mantelpiece.

As if 2015 wasn’t already an amazing year for Richie Towell, he’s only gone and won what he’ll surely consider the most prestigious award of all (ahem), the JOE Footballer of the Year sponsored by NIVEA MEN.

Just under 10,000 of you voted in a poll that pitted Brighton’s latest signing with Jon Walters, Robbie Keane, Wes Hoolahan and Seamus Coleman, with more than two in every five giving the 24-year old the nod.

And why wouldn’t you? To re-iterate, 2015 was a sensational year for Towell. He won the league and cup double. He won the PFAI Player of the Year award. He scored 29 goals FROM MIDFIELD, including the winner in the FAI Cup Final.

And who knows, he might even end up at the Euros.

Congratulations Richie, it’s thoroughly deserved.
