Christmas like they did in the olden days.
Households in Celbridge have been having a unique Christmas experience this year, forced to cook their Christmas dinners without the help of electricity.
They have been told there’s a ‘serious fault’ with the electricity (which has been gone for several hours), and there are no signs of it coming back on.
A few families from the Kildare town have sent us pictures of their attempts to keep the Christmas spirit alive despite their difficulties, and it looks like they’re doing a great job.
Nothing says Christmas like barbecued turkey and roast potatoes.
It’s all fun and games now, but wait until their phones run out of power and this story could get an awful lot less charming.
Thanks to Aodan O’Connor and Avril Breen for sending these our way. If your Christmas has been in any way special, let us know on Facebook or at editorial@JOE.ie
