This is a little embarrassing.
No matter how intense sporting rivalries get over here, it generally stops short of anyone throwing a pig’s head onto the pitch like Barca fans did to Luis Figo after he moved to Real Madrid.
Barcelona and Real Madrid hate each other, for reasons reaching back as far as the dictatorship of General Franco.
With that in mind, it must be a little embarrassing for Real Madrid legend that he’s on record saying that Barcelona are his favourite Spanish club:
